I\u2019m a passionate record collector \u2013 especially loving disco and house. I got into DJing through a few open-air parties that I organised with friends. Nowadays, you\u2019ll regularly find me playing at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/gottes_gruene_wiese\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><em>Gottes Gr\u00fcne Wiese<\/em><\/a>. You can also catch me at other spots in Cologne like <a href=\"http:\/\/diekunstbar.de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><em>Kunstbar<\/em><\/a> or this Sunday (13.07.25) at Bredouille for <a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/dinnerunddisco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><em>Dinner&amp;Disco<\/em><\/a>. At the end of July, I\u2019m also heading to <a href=\"http:\/\/zugvoegelfestival.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><em>Zugv\u00f6gel-Festival<\/em><\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recently, I spent a few months travelling in Brazil and Argentina, where I discovered many exciting records \u2013 including the track I brought with me today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why this format? <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I really enjoy connecting with other people who love music. That\u2019s why I came up with the idea to create a community-based network. My goal is to make music more accessible and give (local) musicians a platform. This way, we can support each other as a community and create spaces for friends and people who often go unseen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What\u2019s the name of the track \u2013 and who is it by?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Mania de Voc\u00ea<\/em> &#8211; Rita Lee<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Who is Rita Lee \u2013 and what makes the song special?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p><em>Rita Lee (1947\u20132023) was a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She first became known as a founding member of the psychedelic rock band Os Mutantes, which played a central role in the Tropic\u00e1lia movement of the 1960s. In the 1970s, she launched a successful solo career and became one of Brazil\u2019s most influential pop and rock artists. Mania de Voc\u00ea, released in 1979, is one of her most famous songs. It combines Brazilian pop with a soft, sensual groove and has been covered and reinterpreted countless times over the decades.<\/em><\/p><cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discogs.com\/de\/artist\/274890-Rita-Lee?srsltid=AfmBOop-UmVvn2lfPgmlMsa6-r5XbtwztxeXevJszO78uQdFbdemCG8X\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">https:\/\/www.discogs.com\/de\/artist\/274890-Rita-Lee?srsltid=AfmBOop-UmVvn2lfPgmlMsa6-r5XbtwztxeXevJszO78uQdFbdemCG8X<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When and how did I discover the track?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I discovered the song during my time in Brazil. Musically, I was blown away by the high density of music offerings in cities like S\u00e3o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In S\u00e3o Paulo, I felt overwhelmed by the massive number of record stores, especially <em>Galeria Nova Bar\u00e3o<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I found this LP through one of Rio\u2019s best record dealers, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/instagram.com\/tropaduvinil\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Tropa du Vinil<\/a><\/em>, who I met at <em>Feira Livre da Gl\u00f3ria<\/em>. The song was playing everywhere. Every band knew it, everyone could sing along \u2013 it\u2019s a true classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Do I play the track during sets?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, in a relaxed bar atmosphere, it always creates a great vibe for both the crowd and myself. I also love playing it during private listening sessions at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Is there a particular version I prefer?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Just recently I found out there\u2019s a <a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=ntQXfNfxUdo&amp;ab_channel=RitaLee-CoLEEcionador\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Spanish version<\/a> of it \u2013 that was a cool surprise! But I still prefer the original.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Do I associate any specific memories with the track?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes \u2013 I remember a big street party in Salvador de Bahia where everyone was singing it loudly together \u2013 it was magical. The song is linked to so many memories for me. When I hear it, images and emotions from my journey come back to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Anything else?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Definitely \u2013 another favourite from the same album is <em><a href=\"http:\/\/youtube.com\/watch?v=AlcjKDTby3M&amp;ab_channel=RitaLee-Topic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Chega Mais<\/a><\/em>.
